Keel's privacy notice

Effective date: 26 October 2026 Version: 1.0

Keel runs on your computer and sends nothing about it anywhere: no telemetry, no crash reports, no account. It contacts our servers for two things only: once a day, to see whether a newer Keel is out, and with a Pro order number or licence, to turn Pro on or bring in a subscription's renewal.

1. On your computer

To steer work, Keel reads the processes in your Windows session: their names, command lines, parents, CPU use and priorities. It keeps its settings, a log, a journal of what it changed (so it can put things back) and your Pro licence in %APPDATA%\com.rptxsoftware.keel. None of it leaves your computer. keelctl and Keel talk over 127.0.0.1 with a token only your user account can read.

2. The licence server

Keel contacts license.rptxsoftware.com, our server on Cloudflare, only when:

you enter a Paddle order number (txn_…) to turn Pro on: Keel sends that number, and gets back a licence;
a subscription is in the last week of its period: Keel sends its licence, every six hours until it gets the renewal.

A licence names the order and, for a subscription, the subscription; nothing about you or your computer. Pro bought once, Free and the trial never contact the server. The server asks Paddle whether that order is paid and stores nothing: your IP address is held in memory for a minute to limit repeated tries, and Cloudflare keeps its own short request logs.

3. New versions

Once a day Keel reads rptxsoftware.com/keel/latest.json, a public file that says the newest version. The request carries nothing about you or your computer beyond what any web request does (your IP address, which Cloudflare sees). Keel never downloads or installs anything by itself: it shows a button to the download page. Settings can switch this off.

4. Buying Pro

Keel Pro is sold by our reseller Paddle.com, the merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment details, email address and country under Paddle's privacy policy. We see your email address, country and order in Paddle's records, and use them only for your order: receipts, refunds and support. We never see your card.

5. This website

rptxsoftware.com/keel/ has no analytics, advertising or cookies of its own. The checkout page loads Paddle's script, which uses what Paddle needs to take the payment. The rest of the site is covered by the site's privacy policy.

6. Your rights and contact

You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, as far as tax law lets us: write to [email protected]. RPTX LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA.
