Cookies & similar technologies
1. Marketing site — rptxsoftware.com
The rptxsoftware.com website is served as a
static site from a CDN and, in its default state, sets
no cookies of any kind. It does not read or
write to localStorage or sessionStorage
on pages you visit before signing in, and it does not serve
third-party advertising, retargeting, cross-site tracking, or
session-replay scripts.
The only first-party analytics we run on the marketing site is Cloudflare Web Analytics — a cookieless Real User Monitoring service that measures page-load performance (Core Web Vitals), does not set cookies or read any identifier on your device, does not fingerprint the browser, and discards the originating IP address at the edge. Because this service is cookieless and does not track individual users, no separate consent banner is served. See the Privacy Policy §2.3 for details.
2. Inside the product — askfolder.com
Once you sign in to AskFolder, our application sets the following first-party cookies, all of which are strictly necessary for the service to work and therefore do not require prior consent under ePrivacy Directive Article 5(3) or analogous US state law:
session
Essential
Signed, HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Stores your authenticated session identifier. Expires when the session ends (typically 30 days of inactivity) or when you sign out. Without it you cannot stay signed in.
csrf_token
Essential
HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Cross-site request forgery mitigation. Short-lived (per request / per form).
lang
Essential
Stores your preferred interface language (e.g. en or zh). Lives for up to 12 months; cleared when you change it or sign out.
theme (optional)
Essential-for-preference
Stores your selected light / dark theme. Only set if you use the theme toggle. Clearing it reverts to system default.
We do not set any advertising, retargeting, cross-site tracking, analytics, or social-media cookies inside the product. No third-party cookies are set by RPTX-authored code.
3. Widget embeds on customer sites
Customers can embed the AskFolder widget on their own websites.
In its default configuration the widget runs inside an iframe
served from our domain and does not set any
cookie on the parent site's domain. The widget may
keep a short-lived conversation identifier in its own iframe's
sessionStorage so that a page refresh does not
erase an in-progress chat; that identifier is not shared with
the parent site, is cleared when the user closes the tab, and
contains no personal data beyond what the user typed into the
chat.
Customers remain responsible for whatever cookies their own site sets and for any consent banner they need to present to their own visitors under local law.
4. How to control cookies
You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser's privacy settings. Because every cookie we set is strictly necessary, blocking them will sign you out of AskFolder and prevent you from signing back in; the marketing site continues to work unaffected.
This page, and the cookies listed on it, are reviewed on every material change to the services. If we ever add a non-essential cookie or similar technology, we will publish a granular consent mechanism before it is set and update this page with at least 30 days' notice.
